Today a fifteen year old girl posted several comments about my work. I was quite suprised that a minor could even view works that DA insist I designate as containing mature subject matter. I naturally assumed that there was some preventitave measure in place to prevent access to images baring such warning.

I responded that she was too young to be viewing such images and she wrote back the it shouldnt matter that she is only fifteen. She was talking about her knowledge of anatomy and was confused and disturbed by my exagerations of the figures.

My response to her has much more to do with the DA censorship issue than with a fifteen year old girls knowlege of anatomy or her ability to understand my unrealistic adult oriented images.

Before I post any images I am required by DA to designate them as containing adult content or not. My work contains material not suitable for all ages so I designate it as inappropriate for minors such as you.

Somehow you are still able to view them.

If I am to be censored for the content of the work I post, what consequence awaits violators of these same rules when they intentionally access material that is beyond their maturity?

There are plenty of age appropriate images of video game characters and kittens and such on DA to occupy a young girl's fancy, so I see no reason for an innocent to seek out artwork that is neither intended for their view nor it would seem, even within their comprehension.
